Teacher Evaluation

This year’s teacher evaluation timeline and handbook is available for review on the district’s educator evaluator page . It is imperative that teachers who are scheduled to be evaluated this year familiarize themselves with the evaluation timelines and guidelines. There appears to be some confusion amongst teachers and administrators as to who will be evaluated during the 2014-15 school year.    Any teacher who received an “Effective” or a “Highly Effective” final effectiveness rating (FER) for his/her 2013-14 evaluation will not be evaluated during the 2014-15 school year.  The only exception, is if a teacher changed certification areas for this school year.  All teachers, regardless of FER, are required to have a beginning of the year and an end of the year conference with his/her administrator.

The group of teachers who are scheduled to be formally evaluated this school year are:

  • All non-tenured teachers.
  • All support staff.
  • Teachers who do not have a FER for the 2013-14 school year.
  • Teachers who received either an “Ineffective” or “Developing” rating for the 2013-14 school year.
  • Teachers working under the same certification but whose roles require a change of evaluation type (i.e. classroom teacher to support professional (or) support professional to classroom teacher).
